Today is Madeline’s 17th birthday and she invited us over for dinner and cake.

As soon as she opened the door I was a little taken aback by her bumblebee outfit and the words she spoke. “You will be a nun!”

    Yes, a nun. It was a costume party that provided the costumes. Really quite splendid. I wore a full nun outfit, my boyfriend Alex wore a straw hat implying the “hick”, Drew was a “hick” as well. Julian, the other exchange student from France who is living in Middletown was a drag queen in a gold gown and blonde wig. That was interesting…anyways I had a really good time and I’m glad I know her and her nice host family.

Well, yesterday was interesting because I was suppose to pick up Madlin with Alex and have fun in Middletown but he didn’t have a car so we couldn’t do anything. Alex told me he would walk to my house all the way from Portland and it freaked me out! I was like no your not! You crazy kid! But he did anyway. It took him like two and half hours. He said it was worth it.

     Since we don’t get to spend our mornings together much, if at all, I made breakfast for dinner. Home fries, eggs and toast, it was good. Then we spent the rest of the night trying not to think about how much life sucks at times. His mother said he had to sleep in the yard that night because she was mad at him for no good reason. It sucks.

     Washington Trip is coming and I’m so excited! It’s going to be fun. That reminds me, I must get the movies turned in so we can watch them on the bus ride down.

Last night was awesome. Alex picked me up from rehearsal and we went back to my house to get ready for the night. First we went to main street pizza for a bite to eat, and then we picked up Madlin at her house and headed down to Middletown. We went to the liquor store and we bought some Peachtree schnapps. Madlin got all excited when she saw all the German liquor we have here in America. Then we drove over to Klay’s and sat in the parking lot of the church where there just happened to be an AA meeting that night. We felt so bad! Lol! We were drinking in the car while all these people were outside just after their meeting trying not to let them see us. After a little while we went over to Klay’s and meet up with Ian and Emily. Ali was there too and she came up to me and said hey. I introduced her to Madlin and asked her what she was doing. She had just saw corpse bride and was going off to the Durham fair.

     We walked down to Distinta and bought tickets for a later show then walked back up to the car and brought it down to the liquor store again and bought more.  Ian, Em, Madlin, Alex and I sat in the parking lot drinking till just before the show and then went in. I thought it was great. It was really something, nothing compared to the nightmare before Christmas but still great. After the show we went back to Klay’s and hung out till we finally went up to Ian’s place. We sat around drinking and smoking a little till midnight-ish. Then we took Madlin home and I went back to Alex’s house. She is really something. She makes me laugh all the time becasue she's so much fun to be around. I’m not allowed to stay over anymore but I did anyways. We started to watch “The Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy” but I fell asleep. The next day I had a slight hangover, so we made a nice big breakfast of eggs, and blueberry pancakes and watched the movie again.

   So now I’m working on an essay and some French project. Alex should come by later.
